SEN Tutor – Ilkeston (DE7)
Are you patient, creative, and passionate about helping students with additional needs? At TP Tutors
, we’re looking for dedicated SEN Tutors to provide 1:1 support for learners in Ilkeston (DE7) who need tailored guidance to re-engage with their education.
Our pupils may be out of school due to anxiety, SEND, or other barriers
. You’ll deliver face-to-face sessions in safe, local settings — in the home or community spaces like libraries — focusing on building trust, boosting confidence, and creating a positive learning environment
.
- Supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis
- Adapting teaching strategies to match each learner’s style and emotional needs
- Delivering personalised tuition in core subjects
- Helping learners rebuild confidence and re-engage with education
- Providing short progress updates for parents or local authorities
- Experience working with SEN learners (school, tuition, or care experience)
- Patient, adaptable, and able to motivate reluctant learners
- Hold an Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
- Passionate about making a real difference in young lives
- Competitive pay: £25–£30 per hour
, depending on experience - Flexible hours during the school day (Monday–Friday)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
