Registered Manager

This is more than a compliance-management role. It is an opportunity to lead an established branch, develop capable people, improve quality and influence the future of a growing homecare business.

You will lead a service supporting approximately 100 clients and 50 carers, with support from an office team that includes a Care Quality Manager and Senior Care Coordinator.

You will hold overall accountability for branch quality, safeguarding, people, culture, regulatory compliance, client experience, operational performance and sustainable growth.

You may already be an experienced Registered Manager. You may also be a senior leader from another regulated, inspected or safeguarding-led service who can demonstrate strong people leadership, quality governance, operational judgement and the ability to become credible within CQC-regulated adult social care.

The people who succeed in this role do not simply keep a service running. They build capable teams, create clarity, challenge poor practice and improve how services operate. They are calm under pressure, willing to make difficult decisions and able to use evidence rather than assumption. They understand that regulation is the foundation of a strong service.

What you will lead

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the branch.
• Apply for and maintain CQC Registered Manager status.
• Build a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.
• Lead and develop the management, office and care teams.
• Hold managers and staff accountable for quality and performance.
• Oversee client assessments, care planning, reviews and complex case management.
• Act as the branch Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Lead CQC compliance and inspection readiness.
• Manage complaints, incidents, safeguarding and operational risk.
• Oversee medication, infection-control, health and safety and quality governance.
• Use audits, feedback and management information to drive improvement.
• Manage branch performance, resources and budget controls.
• Support sustainable growth while protecting quality and workforce capacity.
• Build strong relationships with clients, families, commissioners and professionals.
• Participate in the paid management on-call rota.

The post holder will provide strategic, operational and day-to-day leadership across quality, safeguarding, people, culture, client experience, regulatory compliance, service performance and growth.

The Registered Manager will ensure the service meets CQC Fundamental Standards, Avanti policies and all relevant legal and contractual requirements.

This is a senior branch leadership role. It requires strong judgement, visible people leadership, regulatory credibility and the ability to convert data, feedback and operational evidence into sustained improvement.

The Registered Manager:

• holds overall accountability for the branch and regulated activity;
• applies for and maintains CQC Registered Manager status;
• leads branch quality, safeguarding, people, culture and operational performance;
• ensures effective governance and regulatory compliance;
• establishes clear accountability across the management and office team;
• makes final branch-level decisions within delegated organisational authority; and
• represents Avanti with commissioners, professionals, regulators and community partners.
• Apply to CQC for Registered Manager status and maintain registration.
• Accept accountability for the safe and compliant management of the regulated activity.
• Ensure the service meets CQC Fundamental Standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Maintain effective governance systems and a clear audit trail of decisions, actions and improvements.
• Lead preparation for CQC inspections and other external reviews.
• Respond promptly and effectively to regulatory findings, feedback and required actions.
• Ensure policies, procedures, risk controls and business-continuity arrangements are current and understood.
