Job Description

The objective of the US Demand Planning team is to monitor and maintain the stability of Abb Vie product in the U.S. supply channel, ensure the equitable allocation of product to customers and provide business insights on wholesaler & specialty pharmacy purchase trends across Abb Vie’s Immunology brands. The Director, Demand Planning Immunology will lead project management, administer distribution agreements, provide purchase trend insights, and build relationships across Trade, Market Access, Marketing Insights (APEX), Sales Forecasting, Pricing and Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Business Partnering/FP&A – Collaborate closely with Immunology stakeholders to identify product trends, provide channel insights, and link multiple data sources. Communicate with external wholesale and major pharmacy customers to gain deeper insights on product purchase trends and inventory levels, and present interpretations of business impact to Abb Vie leadership.
  • Controls/Compliance – Develop familiarity with Abb Vie’s Distribution Service Agreements, contract terms, and business applications. Review actual DSA performance and metric achievement for compensation.
  • Weekly/Month-End/Quarter-End – Support the Senior Director, Demand Planning in projecting “to-market” volumes, leveraging channel modeling tools, and creating ad‑hoc analytics to provide proactive visibility to supply channel dynamics.
  • People Leadership & Development – Manage and develop staff supporting Demand Planning Immunology, oversee execution of distribution agreements, and ensure team growth and effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting (advanced degree preferred). 12+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of management experience.
  • Experience in a complex global organization; pharmaceutical sector experience is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills, SAP, scenario planning experience, and data storytelling.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including leadership in planning and executing projects from vision through implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills – synthesizing data into concise information for decisions, recommendations, and proposals.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization, building strong partnerships, and accessing available resources.
  • Flexible, adaptive to changing priorities, persistent in following through, and able to make timely decisions/recommendations based on data.
  • High personal integrity, energy, and objectivity.
  • Process‑focused with experience in implementing process improvements or change management initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and challenging environment.

  • The compensation range described is the range of possible base pay the company believes in good faith it will provide at the time of posting, based on the job grade. Individual compensation will depend on geographic location and other factors.
