Safety Manager (Construction) – Onsite
Our client is hiring a Safety Manager (open to Safety Specialist-level candidates) to support a single, long‑term industrial construction project in East Alton, IL. This is a 100% onsite role dedicated to one project location for approximately 2 years
, supporting a large‑scale brass manufacturing facility expansion and the company’s long‑term 2030 vision.
$70,000.00/yr – $85,000.00/yr
Medical insurance almost fully employer‑paid for employee.
Responsibilities- Lead all safety efforts for one dedicated construction project
- Maintain a consistent onsite presence throughout the project
- Partner closely with the onsite superintendent and project leadership
- Enforce and model the company’s “Safety Always” culture
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and site‑specific safety requirements
- Perform routine jobsite safety audits, inspections, and walkthroughs
- Identify hazards, document findings in Procore, and implement corrective actions
- Develop, implement, and maintain project‑specific EHS programs
- Provide real‑time safety coaching to workers and supervisors
- Deliver hands‑on safety training for cranes, fall protection, excavation, scaffolding, and heavy equipment
- Support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action planning
- Build strong working relationships with union crews, trade partners, and field teams
Must Have:
- 1–3 years of construction or industrial safety experience
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA compliance
- Field‑based safety oversight experience
- Ability to work directly with union crews and field leadership
Nice to Have:
- Safety‑related degree or certification
- Experience on industrial or manufacturing projects
- Exposure to self‑perform contractors
