Position: Programme Facilitator – Various Upper North Island Play centres
Location: Oregon

Te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi o Aotearoa - Playcentre Aotearoa is a well known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children’s learning through play. Playcentre operates over 400 Play centres throughout the country.

Purpose of the position:

Space is an amazing programme that gives new parents that ‘village’ they need to help raise their baby. Many Space members move on to become Playcentre families.

We are searching for motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitators to join our team. As a Programme Facilitator, you will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly, play.

6 October 2025

Days & hours:

As and when required and by agreement. This is a casual position during term time only.

The candidate must:
  • Have Playcentre Course 3, Level 4 or above or hold an ECE degree or diploma OR Primary Teaching with Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award preferred but not necessary.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.
  • Have completed Level 2 Space facilitator training or be willing to complete this.
Desirable skills and experience will include:
  • A passion for working with new babies and children (aged up to 6 years) alongside parents and caregivers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
  • Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session;
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whāriki;
  • Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group.
