Media Specialist/Librarian - Lincoln Trail

Lincoln Trail Elementary School is seeking a Media Specialist/Librarian who is committed to empowering every learner by building a welcoming, engaging library environment. This position is responsible for fostering a love of reading, supporting students in developing essential research and digital literacy skills, and collaborating with staff to enhance classroom learning.

• Provide engaging library/media lessons aligned with literacy and technology goals.
• Foster joyful reading and guide students in selecting age‑appropriate materials.
• Teach foundational information literacy and responsible technology use.
• Partner with teachers to support classroom instruction and school‑wide literacy initiatives.
• Maintain an organized, inclusive library environment.
• Manage the library collection, circulation system, and digital resources.

• Valid Illinois teaching license with Library/Media Specialist or Library Information Specialist endorsement.
• Knowledge of children’s literature, literacy development, and instructional technology.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Master’s degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
