Description: Mahomet-Seymour School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered High School Band Director to lead a well-established and highly respected band program. This position includes band responsibilities at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels, ensuring a cohesive, vertically aligned music experience for all students. The position will begin with the school year.
Additional stipends:
- Marching Band Sponsor
- Band Director/Assistant Junior High Director
- Jazz Band Sponsor
- Basketball Pep Band Sponsor
- Direct high school band programs, including marching, concert, and jazz bands.
- Collaborate with staff, students, families, and the community.
- Plan and oversee concerts, performances, and events.
- Manage budgeting, purchasing, and inventory for instruments, uniforms, and equipment.
- Communicate clearly with students and families about expectations and schedules.
- Facilitate summer Marching Band camps.
- Experience directing school band programs (high school preferred).
- Strong musicianship and conducting skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Budgeting and financial management experience.
- Group travel experience, planning and executing a major trip.
- Proper certification required.
Salary: Please see attached current Salary Schedule (our existing 4‑year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the school year). Also attached is a summary of our 2026 Employee Benefits.
