- Promote and assist in carrying out programming for the English Language Institute (ELI). Programming responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating ELI class trips and activities, end‑of‑term celebrations, and developing and coordinating volunteer opportunities.
- Assist the ELI Director and Center for Global Education staff in orientation, including coordinating student arrival, carrying out ELI placement test administration and participating in the placement of students within the program, and training summer program counselors.
- Encourage and assist with ELI student integration on the North Central College campus.
- Communicate with prospective ELI students throughout the admission process and during their time on campus.
- Assist in maintaining ELI student and program records, including (but not limited to): grade sheets, certificates, evaluations, budgets, rosters, and student lists.
- Maintain and update program manuals for instructors and students.
- Assist with ELI website maintenance and development.
- Assist with carrying out the English Language Institute marketing plan and promotional materials development. Prepare and carry out mailings and email communications for International Admission and ELI.
- Promote and manage the Conversation Partner Program.
- Collaborate with ELI faculty to enhance the student experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key campus offices such as Residence Life, Registrar, International Admission, and the Dyson Wellness Center.
- Maintain and enhance ELI social networking for prospective and current students.
- Meet with prospective students and/or their families when they visit campus.
- Support ELI coursework, as appropriate.
- Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills required.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
- Intermediate skills using MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
Approximate number of work hours per week: 20 hours per week during the academic year, excluding academic breaks.
