Position Summary:

The Department of World Languages & Cultures in the College of Arts & Sciences at North Central College invites applications for an adjunct, non-tenure track position in Spanish. Adjunct faculty are appointed on a course-by-course basis. This posting is ongoing to develop a qualified pool of candidates. The department needs vary from semester to semester.

• Deliver communicative instruction following the provided syllabus and textbook for elementary and intermediate Spanish courses.
• Assess students’ work and provide detailed feedback on how to improve students’ oral and written communication skills in Spanish.
• Report midterm and final grades to Registrar within the college due dates and platforms.
• Communicate regularly and timely with the Elementary Spanish Coordinator and the World Languages & Cultures Chair about course development and any issues that may arise.

• Completed a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Literature or related fields.
• High-advanced, native-like or native fluency in Spanish at oral and written levels.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.

• Experience with teaching Spanish, Linguistics or Literature.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, teaching, and research.

$3,840 to $4,380 per 4-credit hour course.
