This Graduate Assistant will support the Men’s Cross-Country and Track & Field programs, focusing on recruiting, compliance oversight, and sport teaching under the direction of the Head Coach and Athletics Division. The role aims to develop leadership skills through engagement with recruits, student-athletes, alumni, and campus departments.
Essential Functions- Recruiting:
Identify outstanding student‑athlete candidates; develop relationships with student‑athletes and parents/guardians, high school/club coaches, teachers, alumni, and others; organize and coordinate recruiting tasks; maintain the recruiting database; collaborate with Admissions Office. - Compliance Oversight:
Maintain current knowledge of NCAA and conference regulations; assist in adherence. - Sport Teaching:
Support Head Coach in building team culture; assist in organized practice sessions; model appropriate sportsmanship, competitiveness, and humility. - Additional duties:
Perform assignments as determined by GA strengths and team needs.
- Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience in college athletics strongly preferred.
- Valid, unencumbered driver's license preferred.
- Approximate work hours: 20 hours per week during the academic year.
