Position Summary:

Supervisors guide preservice candidates through placement experiences in a PK‑12 school site. These candidates are undergraduate students pursuing teacher licensure in elementary education, special education, secondary education, or a K‑12 content area. The supervisor duties involve the following:

• Work in partnership with the cooperating teacher at the site to assure student is meeting professional standards
• Conduct an observation of the candidate‑led lesson at the school site
• Meet with the student to set goals and offer areas of strength/development
• Complete appropriate observation paperwork, monitor progress, grade submissions, etc. for each candidate assigned
• Work cooperatively with the placement coordinator to assess the student assessment and foster K‑12 school partnerships
• Foster a culture of growth and student success
• Communicate regularly with assigned students, cooperating teachers, the placement coordinator, fellow supervisors, etc.
• Attend meeting(s) with department personnel when needed for orientation, updates, etc.

The position is for supervisors for education students in field experience placements for Spring 2026 in the content areas of Secondary Education – English, Art Education, and Elementary Education.

• Teaching licensure /State of Illinois
• Supervision or college instructional experience preferred
