Library Director, Richards Memorial Library (Paxton)

The Richards Memorial Library (RML) in Paxton, MA, seeks an experienced, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking library director to manage and guide the library and meet the community’s evolving needs. The director will have a significant impact on the library’s development, refining and enhancing services, programs, and community outreach.

The director will work closely with the town administrator and Board of Library Trustees and will oversee all library operations, including budgeting, strategic planning, service delivery, employee management, and facilities maintenance.

A bachelor’s degree is required, and an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited master’s degree in library and information science is preferred, along with at least three years of progressive library experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The successful candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as knowledge of public library and general management principles, collection development, and library technology.

This role requires 35 hours per week, including two evenings per week and two Saturdays per month.

The starting salary will be between $54,238.00 and $61,352.00 and comes with a full benefits package.
