This is is for a leave of absence that will be approximately November 16,2026 through February 16, 2026.
The daily rate for this position is $397.40.
POSITION SUMMARY
Generalist school counselors in District 86 facilitate a comprehensive counseling program which meets the needs of their assigned students in grades 9-12. School counselors help students evaluate their abilities, interests, talents, and personal characteristics in order to develop realistic academic and career goals. High school counselors advise students regarding college admission requirements, entrance exams, financial aid, trade or technical schools, and apprenticeship programs.
Counselors assist students with personal, family, educational, mental health, and career decisions and problems. School counselors promote and enhance academic, personal, social, and career development of all students.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE:
- ISBE PEL - School Counseling Endorsement
- Knowledge of best practices in School Counseling
- Good verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to organize information and problem solve complex situations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with high school students preferred
