PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Adjunct instructors instruct students, participate in appropriate curricular and co-curricular assignments and functions, and perform the necessary administrative obligations.

RESPONSIBILTIES / PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following duties, which represent a minimum of 10% of the employee’s time. List the job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. • Plans and teaches courses in assigned course.
• Prepares syllabi, instruction materials, coordinates lectures, tests, and evaluates.
• Maintains highest possible standards of classroom instruction.
• Keeps abreast of new information and developments in field of instruction through regular professional development.
• Actively participates in institutional meetings.
• Administers pre- and post-tests (CASAS) according to the assessment guidelines.
• Assists with the development of curriculum.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Thoroughly and accurately responds to individual inquiries.
• Enters data into the College's systems with a high level of accuracy, in a timely manner.
• Represents the College in a professional manner.

• Appropriately manages multiple and competing priorities while working independently with a high level of responsibility and initiative.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBIILTY:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field a regionally accredited institution is required.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience with disadvantaged individuals preferred. Demonstrated ability to use technology in teaching is required.
• Familiarity with basic online academic technology, such as Canvas, is preferred.
• Teacher certification is preferred.
