Overview
The #1 Wind Technician Development Program offers a structured career development path for entry‑level wind technicians. This program, built in partnership between Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas, provides exclusive wind safety and technical training accredited through the Global Wind Organization (GWO), on‑site work near home, and opportunities for growth.
Job Summary
The TOP Wind Service Technicians receive GWO accredited training and primarily work at a local wind site. They perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment, assist with machinery repair, and may undertake other duties as needed. This is a full‑time paid position with on‑boarding training.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to climb a 300‑foot wind tower multiple times per day and walk across the hub.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 300+ feet.
- Must meet specific weight requirements of tower ladders (250–300 lbs max, including PPE).
- Comfortable working in confined spaces.
- Ability to handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs.
- Successful completion of climb test(s) and tower rescue training.
Responsibilities
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety procedures.
- Perform basic mechanical installations, maintenance, operations, and upgrades.
- Verify work complies with customer requirements.
- Document all work performed and submit progress reports.
- Repair or replace parts.
- Use specific tools safely.
- Occasionally work independently on equipment maintenance projects.
- Travel up to 25% as required.
- Work holidays, weekends, and overtime when necessary.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma / GED and Associate Degree in a Technical Mechanical or Wind Energy discipline or equivalent experience.
- Completion of Basic Safety, Tower Safety, Technical (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic), LOTO, and other required training.
- Pass background check and drug screening.
