Job Summary:

We are seeking a Controls Engineer (Electric Vehicle) to join the Electric Powertrain Control Systems team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, simulation, and validation of powertrain control systems for electrified powertrain products. This role focuses on model‑based controls development using MATLAB/Simulink, supporting the next generation of electric and hybrid vehicles.

• Develop powertrain control requirements based on machine‑level performance and functional needs.
• Design and implement leverageable control features for various electromechanical system architectures using model‑based development.
• Perform virtual product development for control system functional testing, optimization, and performance verification.
• Validate powertrain control features through simulation, lab, and vehicle testing using CAN and Ethernet‑based tools.
• Analyze data, perform root cause investigations, and document system performance and control functionality.
• Collaborate with global teams and process partners to ensure high‑quality product delivery.
• Design and implement embedded control software from requirements to production and deployment.
• Analyze and enhance system resource efficiency, stability, and scalability.
• Review project requirements and provide estimates for time and cost.

• 5+ years of experience (Bachelor’s) or 2+ years (Master’s) in controls engineering or embedded systems for electric/hybrid vehicle applications.
• Proficiency in model‑based control development using MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow.
• Strong background in electromechanical, transmission, hybrid, or powertrain control systems.
• Experience with virtual product development and HIL/lab/machine testing.
• Hands‑on experience with CAN tools such as Vector CANape, CANalyzer, or ATI Vision.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, control software processes, and system‑level testing.
• Solid programming experience in C/C++.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or equivalent Engineering discipline (required).
• Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
