Chemical Manufacturing Engineer

The Chemical Manufacturing Engineer role at 3M involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to improve product cost, service, and quality while ensuring process safety and compliance. This position is based in Cordova, Illinois and may require up to 5% travel.

• Work with cross‑functional teams to make improvements to product cost, service, and quality.
• Improve productivity through continuous improvement activities.
• Write, maintain, and improve production standard operating procedures.
• Ensure process safety and compliance by leading PSM activities, maintaining material balances, and leading waste reduction projects.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Five (5) years of engineering experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.

• Ten (10) years of engineering experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Experience as a chemical engineer in a chemical‑based manufacturing facility.
• Experience with reactor systems.
• Experience with distributed control systems (DCS).

• Cordova, Illinois

The expected compensation range for this position is $141,150 – $172,517, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
