Algorithm and Analysis Software Engineering Scientist Associate Position Information
Weekly scheduled hours: 40 hours per week. FLSA status:

PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS.
Purpose:
Support applied research and development programs through algorithm development and implementation in disciplines such as signal processing, statistical and mathematical modeling, and acoustical modeling and simulation for the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).
- Conduct algorithm development, implementation, analysis, modeling, and simulation in signal processing, statistical and mathematical modeling, acoustical modeling, and simulation.
- Prototype scientific algorithms for proof of concept, validation, and software implementation; support performance evaluation and coding of algorithms into next‑generation modeling and production systems.
- Support acoustic modeling and simulation for training and prediction.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer or information sciences, physics, mathematics, or related technical area.
- Demonstrated ability in scientific algorithm code implementation and/or scientific modeling and data analysis in MATLAB, Python, C++, or equivalent.
- U.S. citizen; subject to a government security investigation and eligibility for access to classified information at the appropriate level.
- Advanced degree in physics, mathematics, computer or information sciences, engineering, operations research, or related technical area.
- Two or more years of applied programming for scientific algorithm development, modeling and simulation, or scientific data analysis.
- Experience with physical modeling, acoustics, signal processing, sonar, real‑time modeling and simulation, detection, localization, tracking, and classification algorithms and applications, applied mathematics, uncertainty modeling, multiprocessing, multithreading, or CUDA development in a Linux environment with version control such as Git.
- Proven ability to work independently, formulate research questions, and take initiative.
- Eligibility for immediate access to classified information; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
$88,500 – $120,000+ (negotiable based on qualifications).
