10+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
Combined background in construction, engineering design, LNG/gas compression startup, and plant operations/maintenance preferred
The Senior Electrical Construction & Commissioning Specialist is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient installation, testing, commissioning, and operation of electrical systems in large-scale industrial facilities, including gas compression stations and LNG plants. This role combines hands-on field expertise with project oversight, requiring collaboration across engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
Key Responsibilities:Construction & Project SupportAbide by and promote all safety procedures; help reinforce a safety-first culture
Inspect electrical installations for compliance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
Participate in sequencing and scheduling to support timely and budget-compliant project delivery
Monitor equipment and material logistics to align with installation requirements
Support construction site management with contract administration and contractor coordination
Conduct and participate in meetings (pre-bid, orientation, status updates, etc.)
Verify installation and commissioning of industrial electrical devices per design, manufacturer specs, and testing protocols
Review and validate drawings, schematics, and vendor documentation to support accurate field installation and as-built updates
Perform electrical testing and checks in line with industry standards and site-specific requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in coordination with field engineers and operations teams
Train and support owner personnel on operation and maintenance of installed systems
Work with medium and low voltage systems, including:
Switchyards and switch gear
Motor control centers (MCCs)
Motors and transformers
VFDs and generators
Protective relays and control circuits
Ensure procedures are followed or created for LOTO, arc flash, arc blast, and shock hazard protections
Provide support during off-hours, including nights and weekends, as required by project schedules
Strong self-management, initiative, and communication skills
Proficiency in OSHA safety and environmental compliance
Working knowledge of:
Electrical construction practices and national code requirements
Testing standards and commissioning practices
Conduit/cable tray installation, cable pulling, and terminations
Experience leading or supervising subcontractors, technicians, or owner personnel
Ability to read, interpret, and redline engineering documents and update as-built records accurately
Familiarity with construction contracts and labor agreements
