Overview
As a Chemical Process Engineer II at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will provide technical expertise at the Metropolis site to ensure 24/7 UF6 production meets quality, cost, and efficiency requirements. Your role will focus on continuous process improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Support daily troubleshooting of plant operations.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement process changes to drive safety, quality, production, and cost performance.
- Participate in HSE and Process Safety Management programs (MOC, PSA, RCA, incident investigations).
- Identify, monitor, and sustain Key Process Indicators to achieve production, yield, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with site engineers to develop and implement innovative engineering solutions to improve OEE.
- Mentor and train front‑line staff on unit design and optimal operation.
- Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to drive process improvements.
- Develop capital project scopes and associated process packages to improve or maintain unit operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a chemical industry.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a production or process engineering role within a chemical manufacturing facility.
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Strong computer literacy and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with identifying process changes and recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with HS&E regulations and life critical safety tools (Lock‑out/Tag‑out, Line Break, Hot Work permits).
- Ability to work safely among highly hazardous materials and wear required PPE.
The annual base salary range for this position is $84k–$115k. Salary offers are based on scope, experience, education, and market considerations.
