Who will you be working with? You will join our innovative Wabtec Bus Solutions division, a team dedicated to developing leading systems for the Transit Bus & Rail industries. Our group combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of product requirements to deliver industry‑leading solutions, lasting value to our customers, and cutting‑edge technologies that shape the future of public transit.
What will you do?- Develop and implement procurement strategies for a variety of engineered and metal components.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering to solve current production issues and new product introductions.
- Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Ensure suppliers meet promise dates and help solve delivery issues where applicable.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to correct source of trouble.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop potential suppliers to meet Wabtec’s quality and performance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 8+ years of experience in the field or a related area.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain & commodity management, supplier management in a high‑mix, global sourcing and operations manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience sourcing CNC, metal fabrication, stampings, extrusions, and castings.
- Knowledge of MRP systems.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
AdditionalInformation
Salary range: $77,400 – $110,300. Offer may vary based on experience, education, and location. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement options. Other offerings may include an annual bonus if eligible.
