CAD Technician

Overview

CAD Technician role s temporary position involves producing essential 2D base maps and plan sheets, and learning industry drafting standards within a team of engineers and senior CAD professionals.

Base pay range: $20.00/hr - $30.00/hr your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

• Auto CAD Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to use Auto CAD for creating 2D designs.
• Reading CAD Drawings: Familiarity with interpreting CAD drawings, schematics, and maps to support project needs.
• GIS Knowledge: Understanding of GIS formats like DWG and SHP, and coordinate systems for mapping purposes.
• Drafting Standards: Familiarity with applying symbols, line types, text styles, and annotations to drawing sets.

  Ability to work alongside engineers and senior CAD professionals to ensure accuracy and resolve technical issues.

• Produce and refine base maps using GIS, survey data, and aerial imagery.
• Prepare foundational drawing sets for gas distribution and transmission projects.
• Assist with the red line process to maintain compliance with industry standards.
• Support the development of CAD drafting tools and best practices.
