** Your Impact:
** The Field Collector provides supportive engineering services by collecting detailed telecommunications information from the job site. This position requires knowledge in all technical aspects of fiber networks and is responsible for in‑person validation of existing mobile network design and layout, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber network design, conduit, handhole, building entrance, and riser facilities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Identify, photograph, and document detailed information of required facilities, including cables, poles, terminals, pedestals, handholes, and other outside plant infrastructure.
  • Capture accurate measurements of attachment heights, span distances, utility structures, and distances from existing/proposed OSP facilities to centerlines, property lines, and curb lines.
  • Identify power and communication facilities and ownership on utility polesνη
  • Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information.
  • Deliver detailed field notes and photographs to the engineering team.
  • Identify relevant obstructions to fiber placement and provide a proposed mitigation strategy.
  • Understand OSP construction techniques.
  • Read and understand digital GIS maps, conduit records, and layout drawings.
  • Effectively use tools such as measuring wheels, height sticks, pull finder, GPS devices, MH/HH hooks, and laser rangefinder.
  • Use electronic devices including iPad, iPhone, laptop, file sharing, and email.
  • Update completion dates and relevant information in Insite related to the job.
  • Perform independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Field Engineering team to complete all job tasks and resolve client issues.
  • Maintain regular, punctual, and predictable attendance to support team and customer needs.
Core Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in the fiber‑optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry pigments.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design) and make‑ready issues.
  • Experience obtaining right‑of‑ways and easements and annotating field notes for desktop teams.
  • Ability to read as‑build prints and identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities, with routing of lines and equipment needed for projects.
  • Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and shapefile functionality.
  • Identify different utilities, potential conflicts, and violations based on regulatory standards (RUS, NESC, GO95, NEC, etc.).
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (a plus).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with an acceptable driving record; able to pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
  • Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technical systems and tools.
  • Resolve problems following standard practices, using judgment within defined policies and guidelines.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Extensive travel and ability to work on site for numerous projects in various states.
  • Work outdoors 95% of the time.
  • Travel up to 100% of the time by air or vehicle; may require overnight stays up to two weeks at a time.
  • Travel with short notice.
  • Follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards.
  • Walk up to 3 miles per day on terrain such as gravel, pavement, or grass.
  • Work in poor weather conditions such as heat, snow, rain, or wind.
  • Work safely, with or without supervision.
