Framer; Custom Framing

Job Summary:

Responsible for completing custom picture frames according to selected design s specified by customers. Makes recommendations to customers on different customization regarding matting mounting shadow-boxing etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist customers in selecting custom wood and metal frame work designs. Informs customers on differences between services relative to custom picture framing such as molding mounting matting shadow boxing etc.

- Uses knowledge of measuring system and frame dimensions to ensure accurate measurements to complete custom framing for oil and canvas paintings still pictures glass and mirrors.

- Uses equipment on-site to cut and assemble shadow boxes frames needle work in conjunction with completing custom orders.

- Assures proper safe guards are in place in handling of all power and manual tools required in the cutting and assembly of all types of wood and metal frames mat cutting Oval and Vertical glass cutter and to include the proper disposal of waste glass.

- Interacts with customers to identify customer needs. Recommends additional custom services relative to framing via suggestive selling.

- Reviews the finished product with customers to ensure customized frame meets the specifications of the customer. Repackages the merchandise securely for customers to transport.

- Insures adherence to policies and procedures for security of cash and stock and assures area is kept clean and orderly.

- Interacts with vendors to convey customer specifications as well as to check the status of customer orders.

- Checks incoming merchandise for breakage non-receipt etc. signs receiving reports and advises supervisor on major problems.

- Exercises tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers. This is expressed by tactfully responding to patrons inquiries and assisting patrons in a prompt and friendly manner.

- Demonstrates samples of custom framing with customers to provide a visual sample of various product options available. Recommends color schemes or textures that best suits and or compliments the customer s merchandise to frame.

- Takes inventory of merchandise and advises supervisory of items needed.

- Tactfully responds to patrons inquiries and assisting patrons in a prompt and friendly manner.

- Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Performs duties independently within the framework of prescribed procedures. Refers problems or unusual situations to supervisor for assistance and guidance. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

- Perform other related duties as assigned

GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general retail customer service knowledge and ability. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Three years of experience completing custom picture frames according to selected designs specified by customers including accurate measuring of frame dimensions to ensure proper custom framing for oil and canvas paintings still pictures glass and mirrors use of power and manual tools required to cut and assemble various types of wood and metal frames mat and glass cutting etc.
