The Person al Banker is a mid‑level, non‑exempt (hourly) role in the Retail Banking Department. The position provides professional customer service across teller and banker functions and acts as a needs‑based sales professional.

• Build and retain meaningful relationships with new and existing customers by identifying needs and educating them about First American Bank’s personal banking products.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored sales presentations to effectively showcase products and services.
• Engage in sales conversations, assist customers in selecting banking products, handle Home Equity and other retail loan applications, close loans, and refer mortgages to internal partners.
• Partner with other bank areas (Business Banking, Wealth Management, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services) to promote products.
• Participate in outbound calling, local community events, and other activities to increase market awareness.
• Meet or exceed assigned sales goals.

• Manage customer experience, ensuring satisfactory service standards and appropriate resolutions.
• Resolve sensitive customer issues by researching, reviewing transactions, and redirecting to resources when necessary.
• Use tools and resources to analyze customer data and provide tailored product recommendations; manage pipeline of conversations and opportunities.
• Perform daily personal banking tasks, including opening, maintaining, and closing deposit accounts; exercise judgment on documentation for transactions.
• Educate customers on online and mobile banking technology.
• Assist customer service phone queues to research, review transactions, and redirect customers.
• Provide teller services such as balancing drawer, processing cash advances, depositing currency, ordering coin, and other teller tasks.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Assist in opening and closing branch procedures as needed.

• Analyze and identify risks during customer transactions; use compliance and fraud training to respond and escalates suspicious activity.
• Participate in internal audits to demonstrate understanding of bank policies and procedures.

• High school degree or equivalent required; college degree in business or related field a plus.
• Training provided; role requires taking loan applications and closing loans.
• May require registering with NMLS.
• Minimum one year of personal banking, customer service, or sales experience required; ability to handle cash transactions and work with U.S. currency.
• Proven sales experience preferred.
• Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, both written and verbal; proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Ability to learn new systems and adapt, occasional travel between First American Bank locations.
• Typical schedule 36–40 hours per week; shifts Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.–1 p.m.; additional hours may be required for phone queues, after‑hour meetings, and call nights.
• Punctuality required to maintain customer service standards.
