CompensationPay Rate: $17.50 per hour. Incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
Position SummaryProvides customer service, processes both business and individual banking transactions, manages a cash drawer, and cross‑sells bank services. Responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions. Trays balances cash drawer throughout the day, balances and rolls the drawer for the day at close of shift, comparing the balance to the system balance. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
Primary Accountabilities- Access institutional banking knowledge.
- Receive cash and checks for deposit, verifying amounts, checking endorsements and reviewing checks for possible fraud including holds.
- Examine cash carefully to guard against counterfeit bills.
- Cash checks for customers in accordance with bank policy, enter transactions into computer system and issue receipts.
- Assist customers with transactions and ATM operations.
- Provide accurate customer service and balance cash drawer throughout the day to reduce and eliminate teller differences.
- Understand basic knowledge of deposit and lending products & services.
- Identify correct product types through needs‑based questioning, allowing them to build and deepen customer relationships.
- Demonstrate knowledge of bank products and services through referring products and services to corresponding business partners, assist customers on electronic services and entering opportunities into the customer information software.
- Serve as relief and/or backup teller in other locations of Midland States Bank.
- Complete all assigned learning activities timely.
- Actively participate in weekly huddles and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
- Demonstrate and model Midland States Bank core values that support the bank’s culture.
- Participate in bank‑sponsored community activities.
- Occasional travel for training and team meetings; willingness to travel periodically within market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirement:
High School Diploma.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift and transport coin and currency bags as required (bags may weigh between 25 lbs and 50 lbs).
