The Village of Barrington is seeking a team-player to serve as Code Enforcement Coordinator with the Village’s Development Services Department.
Reporting to the Director of Development Services, the Code Enforcement Coordinator is responsible for all field inspections, customer service, and administrative work related to zoning, building and/or property maintenance code enforcement. Duties include but are not limited to zoning and site development compliance inspections, investigating reported code violations, proactively performing code enforcement activities and participating in administrative adjudication hearings.
Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, a minimum of 1 year experience in code enforcement, property maintenance, building, or community development, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that enables an individual to successfully perform the job duties. The ability to manage multiple tasks, organize work, set priorities, meet scheduled deadlines and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction is key.
Familiarity with municipal permit and code enforcement software is preferred. A valid Illinois driver’s license is required.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM for a total of 40 hours per week.
The expected hiring range is $65,000 to $75,000 when annualized, depending on qualifications. The full salary range is $58,403 to $89,610.
