Part-Time Experienced Firefighter

The Village of Savoy Fire Department (SFD) is currently accepting applications for Part-Time Experienced positions. We are seeking motivated, dependable individuals committed to serving the community through emergency response, training, and teamwork.

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Must possess, and subsequently maintain, a valid Illinois driver’s license
• Be a United States citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
• Successfully pass a criminal background investigation
• Successfully pass a medical evaluation (NFPA 1582 compliant)
• Successfully pass a physical ability/agility assessment
• Basic Operations Firefighter certification or Firefighter II certification with the ability to obtain Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal Basic Operations Firefighter certification within 6 months of hire
• Three or more years of experience in a public, private, or federal fire department
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

• Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal Fire Service Vehicle Operator
• Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal Hazardous Materials Operations
• Illinois Department of Public Health EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic certification
• Availability to routinely work 12-hour day/night shifts

The rate of pay for this position starts at $16.00 per hour; rate commensurate with certifications. Additionally, the Village offers free individual membership to the Village’s Recreation Center.
