Job – Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location - Portland OR

Duration 6 months – possible conversion

Eligibility: U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, and Employment Authorization Document (EAD) holders are eligible to apply.

• Receive and process samples, run testing kits. May be responsible for maintenance, documentation QC.
• Hem, coag, urinalysis, molecular, roughly 1300 samples per day. Will work with a team.
• Fast paced, level 1 trauma and peds.
• 2nd – Generalist – doesn’t necessarily need blood bank; would be a plus.

• Is this for a Medical Lab Technician (2 year MLT degree) or Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Technologist (4 year BS) or are you open to either? BS
• Please confirm if ASCP or AMT certification is required. If required, are you open to eligible/registered candidates? Yes
• Are you seeking a generalist (proficient in testing in all Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation) or a Micro Lab worker with Molecular background? Generalist
• What department will this technical position support? Micro lab, Core lab, DNA sequence
• Is Blood Bank experience required for this role? Yes or someone willing to train
• Any particular LIS (Lab Information System) experience you would like to see on resumes?

Minimum 6-months of pertinent clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

Education: Bachelor s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology and meet regulatory (CAP, CLIA AND New York State) requirements for high-complexity testing.
