Overview

Ophthalmic Technician – Naperville – Duly Health and Care

Position Highlights
  • Full-Time, 40 hours
  • Hours:

    Monday‑Friday; 7:00AM‑5:00PM
  • Location:

    Naperville – Rickert site; travel to Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Downers Grove, Bloomingdale

Responsibilities
  • Interact with all patients respectfully and professionally
  • Communicate procedures and processes to patients during visits
  • Ascertain patient needs and uncommon circumstances via patient or family member
  • Seek advice from senior staff or physicians as necessary; never perform beyond capabilities
  • Provide telephone support regarding ocular emergencies, prescription refills, and patient care questions
  • Adhere to approved policies and procedures
  • Obtain complete patient history (chief complaint, present illness, past, family, allergies, medications)
  • Complete accurate, concise documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Perform accurate & consistent patient care procedures, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, refractometry, pupillary function, automated visual field testing, imaging, OCT, corneal topography, keratometry, pachymetry, and assist in exam room setup
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or in the process of obtaining certification
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an ophthalmology/optometry setting
  • Fundamental experience with standard ophthalmic evaluation equipment
Compensation

Base pay range: $20.55 – $30.85 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is a portion of the total rewards package.
