OverviewMedical Receptionist – Naperville – Family Practice
Position Details- Full‑time, 40 hours per week
- Clinic hours:
Monday & Thursday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM;
Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM;
Saturday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. - Location:
640 Washington St., Naperville, IL 60540 (may require float to other Duly sites in Naperville, Aurora, Woodridge or Lisle). - Travel required for float assignments.
- Acknowledge and welcome patients and visitors.
- Inform staff of patient/visitor arrival and provide instruction, assistance and information regarding paperwork and waiting times.
- Answer general questions about the facility (location, rest rooms, elevators, hours of operation).
- Maintain a clean and tidy waiting area with appropriate announcements and brochures.
- Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.
- Obtain registration information and enter it into EPIC.
- Verify and update demographic and health plan information.
- Check patients in and out of the clinic.
- Provide information on payment obligations, HIPAA notice of privacy practices, clinic policies, and collect required forms and signatures.
- Schedule appointments in EPIC per practice protocol and convey schedule changes to appropriate staff.
- Print physician schedules and assist with lab or radiology testing appointments when needed.
- Maintain filing system and prepare charts per clinic specifications.
- Collect copays, cash, checks or credit card payments and post all payments in EPIC.
- Balance daily cash and collections; ensure cash drawers are secured and financial procedures followed.
- Answer telephone calls, take accurate messages and direct calls to the appropriate support staff.
- Understands limits of responsibility and does not provide medical advice to patients.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
- Minimum of one year experience in a customer service setting, preferably a medical office.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- High‑school diploma or GED.
- Typing speed of at least 30 wpm (strongly preferred).
- Excellent service orientation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multitasking and adaptability skills.
- Teamwork disposition and willingness to assist others.
- Computer proficiency: EPIC software and Microsoft applications.
