Job Description:
Join Warner Hospital & Health Services as a Respiratory Therapist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional cardiopulmonary care. In this role, you will provide respiratory therapy services in accordance with physician orders and departmental policies. Your responsibilities include administering a variety of oxygen delivery methods and respiratory treatments, understanding their purposes and potential side effects, and managing mechanical ventilators.
You will also perform critical care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning. This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and may involve exposure to communicable diseases. The schedule is primarily during the day, with a rotating schedule that includes weekends and on-call shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor respiratory therapies based on physician directives.
- Maintain and troubleshoot oxygen delivery systems and ventilators.
- Conduct assessments and modify treatments as needed to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Perform airway management procedures, including tracheal suctioning.
- Document patient progress and therapy outcomes accurately.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of oxygen delivery methods and ventilator management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, with physical stamina to support critical care activities.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with exposure to infectious agents.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Active and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license (state-specific)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
What You Bring:
- Relevant clinical experience with adult and pediatric patients.
- Technical proficiency in ventilator management and airway procedures.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call hours.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related health sciences.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably in critical care or emergency departments.
- Familiarity with advanced respiratory equipment and electronic medical records.
