Position: Paramedic - FT - $10,000 sign-on bonus

Summary: Emergency Medical Technicians respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to transport the patient to a medical facility. At all times, the EMT is expected to perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and core values of MASSAC Memorial Hospital and comply with all MASSAC policies and procedures, OSHA, HIPAA, federal, local and state regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assess the medical needs of the sick or injured patient and provides immediate care, including but not limited to medical duties performed in the ER and pre-hospital admission ambulance runs. Care may include providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), opening a patient's airway so they can breathe, and providing ventilation assistance. Other medical treatment includes bandaging wounds, stabilizing broken bones, controlling bleeding, administering oxygen, and treating shock.
EMTs also assist in childbirth and help people with mental disorders in need of medical assistance.Responds to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury.Maintains control, manages and directs patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency.Provide guidance to Basic EMTs and lesser trained personnel on patient care.Perform administrative duties including but not limited to writing reports and shift change instructions.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
1 year work experience preferred. Must have Illinois Paramedic Certification and valid driver's license. Must have BLS, ACLS, PALS and valid PHTLS.
Shift: Days vary. 24 hr shifts
