• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
• Collaborating with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
• Assisting in graduate internships in computer science, data science and health disparities.
• Leading and supervising students in academic research related to health disparities using AI/ML techniques.
• Staying current with developments in the field through literature, collaboration, and conferences.
• Developing and deploying socially-responsible scientific knowledge and practical technologies.
• Working collaboratively across university departments.
• Participating in grant writing/submission, scholarly publications, and research design.
• Helping create and eventually lead a seminar series on using computer science and data science to eliminate health disparities.
• Serving on academic or administrative committees addressing institutional policies and academic issues.
• Participating in campus and community events.

• Experience with mainstream programming languages for CS and data science (Python, R, SQL, SAS).
• Proficient in multivariate statistical mathematics in biomedical applications.
• Experience with additional languages/tools (Java, Scala, Julia, Tensor Flow, Go, Spark).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication and professional judgment.
• Ability to work with individuals at all levels internally and externally.

• Earned doctorate in computer science, data science, bioinformatics, biophysics, or similar with emphasis in AI/ML.
• Experience in CS, data science, and biomedical applications of reinforcement learning, MDPs, ML techniques, AI, etc.
• 3+ years of teaching experience preferred; applicants invited to apply even if experience is in development.
• Publication track record appropriate to career path.
• Ability to develop, lead, and obtain external funding in research within 4 years.
