We are seeking a dynamic, customer‑service oriented associate to work in our retail branch. The role involves handling customer inquiries, selling products to walk‑in and preferred customers, and occasionally delivering compressed gas cylinders and hard goods on a local route. Backup drivers are required to touch freight, maintain safety standards, and provide excellent customer service.

- Pay range: $21.00 – $28.00 hourly (depending on experience)
- Provide customer support by taking phone orders, addressing inquiries, tracking order status and shipments, and resolving customer issues.
- Assess and recommend products while promoting additional sales of hard goods and gases to achieve target margins.
- Conduct product demonstrations for customers and use customer insight to guide new offerings.
- Work closely with and provide sales support to the Outside Sales team.
- Maintain customer records and files, including accurate account setup and pricing.
- Perform warehouse duties and move cylinders for customers as needed.
- Deliver products to customers by making an average of 10‑12 stops per day, touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service.
- Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
- Complete hazardous material shipping order paperwork in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct and report pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
- Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance.
- Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet business goals and customer needs.
- Continuously build your knowledge of how Linde’s business operates and succeeds to help the organization grow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Customer service or counter sales experience required; industrial setting preferred.
- Knowledge of welding equipment and supplies preferred.
- No DUI/DWI or other alcohol‑driving related convictions within the last 10 years.
- Two years of consecutive driving experience or recent completion of a certified truck driving school.
- Valid Class A or B CDL required.
- Current Hazmat endorsement on CDL strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past 2 years.
- Pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate.
- Ability to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Read and write in English.
- 21 years or older.
