Job Title:
Facilities Manager

Duration: 4 months (with possible extension or conversion to FTE)

Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Onsite, lunch break included)

Summary:

As a Facilities Manager, you will manage a team responsible for overseeing building operations and maintenance for a facility or portfolio of small to medium-sized buildings. This role involves proactive facilities oversight, vendor coordination, auditing, and daily engagement with stakeholders and customers to ensure the smooth operation of the site.

Overview of Work Environment / Team Overview:

• Role supports a 5-person onsite team at a large operational facility.
• The position is open due to a long-term employee leave, and the client is looking to convert the resource to a full-time employee.
• Onsite presence is required five days a week.
• The environment is fast-paced, requiring frequent communication with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.

Resource's Typical Working Day | What You’ll Do:

• Begin the day with onsite arrival and initial facility walk-through checks.
• Engage in daily interactions with team members and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of the building to assess facility condition.
• Hold meetings with customers and suppliers to discuss needs and performance.
• Participate in audits and complete basic reporting related to facilities performance and vendor activities.
• Monitor and identify trends in facilities data to anticipate and resolve issues proactively.

  Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and suppliers.
• Proactive mindset — can identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
• Strong analytical skills — able to review data and spot trends that influence decision-making and operations.
• Solid understanding of building maintenance operations and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Nice to Have Skills:Facilities Management certification (e.g., IFMA, BOMA, or equivalent).
• Experience with FM-related computer systems such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Exposure to process improvement or cost-reduction initiatives.

Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years in facilities or property management.

Education: High School Diploma required (Client prioritizes relevant experience over formal education).

Software Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Familiarity with facilities management systems is a plus.
