• This position is not remote and RJW will not be providing relocation assistance.

The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing daily operations of the warehouse during their designated shift, including scheduling worker hours, inbound and outbound loading, inventory control, maintenance of equipment, and housekeeping.

• Ensure the facility performs yard checks for all trailers in dock doors and in the yard.
• Prevent yard congestion by ensuring trailers are parked to allow movement.
• Ensure all paperwork from the previous day’s work is complete and distributed.
• Oversee loading and unloading for all carriers.
• Ensure trailers are emptied and available for local drivers.
• Conduct periodic dock safety checks.
• Track warehouse customer inventory via computer and complete physical counts.
• Ensure timely processing of orders, bill preparation and inventory control.
• Oversee picking of orders and staging/loading them.
• Schedule carriers for order pickup as directed.
• Manage personnel, scheduling, performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure training of fork‑lift operators on company and customer freight handling procedures.
• Manage warehouse space and maximize layout usage.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with food safety requirements.

• Warehouse management experience with inventory control systems.
• Solid experience in Excel, data entry, and general computer skills.
• Experience managing a staff of 30 or more employees and multiple shifts.
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly operation.
• Good communication skills.
• Leadership and management abilities.

• Interpersonal skills.

• Ability to define and resolve problems.

• Three to five years of management experience.

• College degree preferred or extensive background in transportation warehouse management.
