The Gilded Box Company is looking for an entry‑level Packaging Engineer that wants to get in on the ground floor of a fast‑growing company that’s disrupting the corporate gifting industry.
This individual will be key in the company’s continued growth and have the ability to directly influence the company’s production operations. In this role, you will:
- Support the development and engineering of packaging and insert systems, create dielines and templates for manufacturing
- Maintain SKU consistency across product lines and rationalize variations for simpler and more efficient production operations
- Create functional prototypes and conduct testing (assembly, drop, unboxing)
- Adjust and improve previously engineered SKUs as needed
- Create mass production jigs for various equipment (gluing, printing, engraving, stamping)
- Document assembly processes and integrate them into current practices
- Conduct time studies to determine production cost metrics
- Partner with the Quality department to define performance specifications and test procedures for compliance
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree required (Engineering, Packaging Science, Packaging Design or related fields)
- Internship or some work experience preferred
- Hands‑on 2D / 3D modeling software experience
- Proficient drafting and sketching skills with an emphasis on conformity to functional manufacturing practices
- Understanding of packaging test methods and standards
- Strong conceptual and creative skills
- High integrity, reliable and dependable
- Attention to detail and highly organized
