Overview
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.
ResponsibilitiesChecks all machine safety devices before operating equipment and records and signs the appropriate equipment safety form. If a machine does not pass the safety inspection, the operator will not operate the unit and will notify the supervisor. Loads washer and dryer with slings, verifies batch tickets, stages batches together for maximum utilization, positions washer/dryer properly, selects the appropriate formula, starts the machine, and records batch ticket information.
Operates the machine as directed. Unloads washer and dryer by opening doors, tilting machines, transferring items to carts or hoists, and ensuring items meet moisture and temperature requirements. Conducts maintenance checks, identifies damaged slings, maintains a safe and clean work environment, and follows all production best practices. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work is performed in a warehouse setting with regular exposure to weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. Shift schedule may include weekends and overtime. Physical requirements include moving or maneuvering slings or carriers weighing up to 220 lbs, lifting or carrying product up to 50 lbs, bending, reaching, and standing for long periods. CompensationThe hourly rate for this position ranges from $17.00 per hour, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certificates, prior job experience, market data and other relevant factors.
