Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Cablofil Team in Mascoutah, IL. Responsible for loading and unloading materials within a warehouse or storage facility utilizing forklifts and stage materials for orders for the pick and packers correctly. Ensures raw materials and components are staged for production. Confirms customers packaging requirements are completed on time to meet delivery dates.
Assist with inventory counts and offsite vendor processing. Able to work individually or as part of the manufacturing team.
What Will You Do?
- Load and unload materials within a warehouse or storage facility utilizing hand trucks, forklifts, stand-ups and shelves by hand.
- Pull, pre-stage, and supply required materials (raw materials, sub assembly, purchased parts) to work centers accurately and within timeframe required.
- Identifies, transports, packs, removes, and disposes of material.
- Read pick tickets (work orders) follow instruction to ascertain materials to be shipped.
- Stack cable trays onto pallets and install protective devices such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to materials being transported (Tables/Wire mesh).
- Package orders with correct part #, quantity, and install protective devices such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to materials being transported (Parts/Kitting).
- Make sure all materials are labeled correctly.
- Perform applicable quality checks and document results.
- Perform basic maintenance activities.
- Use scanning equipment to receive, move, and ship product from the inventory management system.
- Make sure work area is clean and organized, free from food, waste, trash and any hazard that may cause an injury.
- Assembles crates to contain products, such as Parts/Kitting/ Wire Mesh tray, using hand tools and precut lumber.
- Print out shipping labels and applying them per standard operating procedure.
- Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies and practices.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include Saturdays.
- Must be capable of communicating with other employees about issues that arise.
- Perform cycle count program when needed and participate in annual full physical inventory count.
- Assist all Material Handlers in work assignments and coordinate activities of logistics agency personnel.
- Additional responsibilities may arise through the development of the above listed items.
- Perform other duties as requested by Management/Supervisor/Lead.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Able to stand for at least 8 hours per day.
- Basic Computer knowledge.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years warehouse general experience.
- Forklift experience.
