Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Shipping Manager to support the daily operations of our shipping department in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will assist in managing outbound logistics, coordinating shipments, supervising shipping personnel, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers. This position is part of Cerro Flow Products LLC, part of Marmon Holdings—a Berkshire Hathaway company.

- Pay Range: 59,200.
- Assist in overseeing all shipping operations, including scheduling, packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with warehouse and production teams to ensure order accuracy.
- Supervise and train shipping staff, ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.
- Maintain shipping records and generate reports on delivery performance, costs, and efficiency.
- Resolve shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline shipping processes and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., DOT, OSHA).
- Assist in managing shipping supplies and equipment to maintain operational readiness.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in shipping/logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures, freight coordination, and inventory systems.
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification or experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
