Position: Powder Coater I - 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 2:00am)
Location: Red Bud

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Powder Coat/Dip line employee builds healthy communities through play and recreation by ensuring parts are safely processed through the operation to produce a high-quality finished product.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Perform production duties to produce parts according to order specifications.
  • Move product and inventory using a forklift and bin system.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Execute and document quality inspections.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Use grinder to smooth and clean as appropriate prior coating process.
  • Perform related duties as required by supervision.
  • Satisfy the required hours of the department.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Set an example for team members of commitment, application of skill, work ethics & habits, and personal character.
  • Ability to successfully perform hanging, grinding, and tear off functions of the coating line.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired.
  • Experience in coating is desired
  • Requires the ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Requires the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to speak effectively with employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach above the shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the manufacturing environment such as steel toe shoes, bump cap, air supplied hood, and eye protection. The employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate to loud, and hearing protection is required in specific areas of the facility.
