We are looking for a Development Technician to assist the product development work to meet customer brief requirements, from development of new concepts, lab application, supporting pilot plant and factory trials and product quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and support R&D Projects.
- Reliably follow technical details and direction accurately.
- Develop culinary skills to undertake development application and presentation work confidently.
- Cook products for both internal and external presentations/tastings.
- Support Project R&D team members with both internal pilot line trials and external factory trials at customer sites.
- Demonstrate understanding and awareness of project importance and time scales.
- Maintain close working relationships with R&D team.
- Apply the development recipe system.
- Develop and grow ingredient and process knowledge.
- Report project progress, problems encountered and possible solutions.
- When necessary, liaise with suppliers and internal departments to order ingredients required for development purposes.
- Interest in culinary food development.
- Desire to be involved in all parts of the team.
- Ability to build effective working relationships.
- Experience of face‑to‑face communication.
- Demonstrate initiative.
- Food‑related work experience.
- Current, valid driving licence.
- Able to travel to customers within the UK and EU.
- Strong team‑working skills.
- Ability to work in the Pilot plant with a range of equipment.
- Ability to work with all flours and flavourings using appropriate PPE.
