About Robey Industries
Robey Industries manufactures , split bit reamers used in horizontal directional drilling across the US. We're a small, growing American manufacturer where your welds go on real tools that get pulled through rock the next week. No corporate layers. You work directly with ownership and see the product you build in the field.
What You'll Do
Weld and fabricate heavy steel drilling tools (reamers and components) to spec. Perform MIG/flux-core and stick welding on thick plate and round stock. Fit, grind, and finish parts to tolerance. Inspect your own work, our tools take extreme abuse downhole, so weld integrity isn't negotiable. Help improve jigs, fixtures, and shop processes as we grow.
How Pay Works:
The Belt System
We rank and pay by demonstrated skill, not seniority. You test into your belt during hiring, and your rate is tied directly to your capability. The path is written, objective, and posted in the shop:
White — $15–20/hr: Entry-level & shop fundamentals. Show up on time, work clean, locate material, and support production.
Blue — $21–27/hr: Production welder. Run shop machines safely and build off blueprints without supervision.
Purple — $28–35/hr: Experienced fabricator. Fast, precise welds across our full reamer line.
Brown — $35–42/hr: Master craftsman. Holds tight tolerances, builds custom jigs, and brings solutions to shop problems.
Black: (Leadership Track): Capable of running shop operations with top-tier profit sharing.
Level up your skills, test up during regular reviews, and get the raise—no waiting on an annual review or hoping someone notices your work.
What We're Looking For
Experience in production, fabrication, structural, pipeline, heavy equipment, or oilfield welding.
Confidence welding thick carbon steel, reading prints, and holding tolerances.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in your craftsmanship.
Newer welders and shop helpers are welcome to apply—the belt system provides a clear path to learn and earn.
What We Offer
Skill-Based Pay: Transparent path from $15/hr to $42/hr.
