Injection Molding Process Technician – 3rd Shift Lead
Loves Park, IL | Full-Time | 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay: $27–$35/hour based on molding and leadership experience
You change molds. You dial in processes. You keep a crew moving.
Job Overview
Plastic Parts International needs a hands-on Process Technician to run 3rd shift. You’ll handle setups, changeovers and troubleshooting, and lead the operators on the floor.
This is a molding role first. You need real injection molding setup or processing experience.
Must have:
- Hands-on mold changes and machine setups on injection molding presses
- Process adjustments: temperatures, pressures, injection speed, cooling and cycle time
- Troubleshooting common defects: short shots, flash, sink, splay
- Experience leading, training or directing operators
What You'll Do
- Set up and start presses for the night’s schedule
- Change molds, materials and colors
- Fix defects and adjust processes to hold quality and cycle time
- Assign operators to machines and train them on quality and safety
- Call in Maintenance and Quality when a problem needs them
- Track output, scrap, downtime and attendance
- Hand off a clear shift report to 1st shift
