Seeking a passionate and motivated Tobacco Prevention Specialist to lead youth and adult tobacco and vaping prevention initiatives. This position will support Project Success Coalition’s Harambee Youth Council and community partners in promoting health equity, preventing tobacco and vape use, and empowering youth and adults to live tobacco‑free lives.
Key Responsibilities- Youth Engagement & Education
: coordinate and facilitate weekly/monthly meetings with Harambee Youth Council members focused on tobacco/vape prevention and vaping risks; develop interactive presentations, peer‑led education, and activities designed to increase awareness of tobacco and vaping risks; mentor youth advocates to lead prevention campaigns and outreach at schools, community events, and online. - Adult Outreach & Cessation Support
: collaborate with local health partners to provide resources and referrals for adult cessation programs; conduct workshops and presentations to educate adults on tobacco/vaper health impacts and available quitting resources; distribute culturally appropriate prevention and cessation materials in the community. - Community Partnerships & Events
: coordinate outreach tables, prevention campaigns, and resource distribution at community events; build partnerships with schools, faith‑based organizations, and community groups to expand outreach and engagement; promote cessation programs through social media, flyers, and other communications. - Data Collection & Reporting
: track and document outreach activities, participation numbers, and outcomes; assist with grant reporting and evaluation requirements; maintain accurate records and submit regular progress reports to PSC and funding agencies. - Policy & Advocacy Support
: engage youth and community members in advocacy for tobacco‑free environments and policies; stay informed about local and state tobacco prevention policies, trends, and best practices.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of tobacco prevention, vaping trends, and cessation resources.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with community partners.
- Experience working with youth and diverse communities.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
