Fox Valley Church (FVC), founded in 1977 and based in the Fox Valley area, is seeking its next senior pastor as longtime leader Tom Atchison prepares to retire in 2027 after more than three decades of faithful ministry. Deeply rooted in its Evangelical Free Church of America heritage, FVC holds to biblical authority, the gospel, trinitarian formation and mission with Reformed and Calvinist theological leanings alongside charitable space for differing views on secondary matters.
Today about 650 people call FVC home, served across two multi-site worship services (8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.) with contemporary, Spirit-sensitive worship, a “1:1:1” discipleship framework, Life Groups, and a team of 10 staff operating under elder-led pastoral council governance. FVC enters this search not from a season of decline but from a position of health and momentum—an expanding 22,800-square-foot campus with a $10.7 million expansion underway, strong lay engagement and a clear sense of mission.
The church is looking for a senior pastor who can honor its history while helping discern and pursue what’s next.
