Applicants should have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel, or reliable transportation to ensure they can reach remote sites, often outside regular working hours. A company vehicle may become available after a probationary period. Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in ecology or a related field, OR at least two years of experience in ecological consultancy.
  • Demonstrated experience in fieldwork, including habitat and bat surveys.
  • A solid track record in office-based consultancy tasks such as reporting and mapping.
  • Level 1 Class Licence for bat surveys, with other survey licences welcomed.
  • Strong botanical identification skills.
  • Experience in Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Assessments and using the UKHab classification.
  • Capability to conduct regular fieldwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Membership of CIEEM.
  • Level 2 Class Licence for bat surveys.
  • Licences for other protected species surveys.
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping.
  • Understanding of relevant protected species planning policies, including the NPPF and local plans, in relation to development.
