The Opportunity:
Leadership, Growth, and Unprecedented Support
Founded in 2015, Sunstone opened Emergency Services in 2023 and has been steadily expanding ever since. From the beginning, doctors across all departments, along with technicians, assistants, and referral coordinators, have been asking for a Critical Care Specialist to round out our collaborative care model and strengthen continuity of care across all specialties.
What Makes This Role Unique?
- Hospital-Wide Eagerness: This effort is driven by a collective commitment to elevate our capabilities and ensure that we can provide continuity of care for increasingly complex cases.
- Ready-to-Learn Team: Our staff is incredibly motivated and excited to grow. As our ER Manager, Ruthie Torrey-Stahl, says: “The ER team is eager to learn more ‘cool stuff’ and have the opportunity to dive deeper into cases. They’re passionate about developing a critical care program that allows them to manage critical patients in-house and see cases through to the end.”
- Team Building: You will be instrumental in helping to design the treatment protocols, teach, train and shape our ECC team, support a positive culture of the Critical Care unit, with administrative support that prioritizes professional excellence and kindness.
“I love coming to work because it allows me to connect with incredible people and make a positive impact. As a member of the management team, I can support and inspire others while driving our goals forward.”

You’re excited by the idea of:
- Building a team
—helping establish a new service from the ground up. - Mentoring others
—supporting the growth of our expanding staff training, residency, and internship programs. - Contributing to our culture
—in a place that’s drama-free, supportive, and filled with laughter.
“At Sunstone, I’m part of a team focused on giving the best care to our patients and their owners. I feel valued and supported here, with competitive pay, solid benefits, and real work-life balance.”
