Love dogs and like staying active?

Kennelwood Pet Resorts is looking for Pet Care Day Camp Attendants to help create a safe, engaging, and fun Day Camp experience for the dogs in our care.

This isn’t a job where you simply watch dogs play. As a Day Camp Attendant, you’ll be actively involved in supervising group play, providing exercise and enrichment, learning to recognize canine body language, and helping maintain safe and appropriate playgroups.

You’ll spend your shift on your feet, interacting with dogs of all sizes and personalities while helping make sure every pet receives attentive, compassionate care.

What You’ll Do
  • Actively supervise dogs participating in Day Camp group play.
  • Provide appropriate exercise, play, socialization, and enrichment.
  • Learn to recognize canine body language and signs of stress, fear, over stimulation, inappropriate play, illness, or injury.
  • Help maintain safe and appropriate playgroups by redirecting behavior and following Kennelwood’s animal-handling procedures.
  • Safely move and handle dogs between Day Camp areas, kennels, and other areas of the resort.
  • Provide fresh water, rest, potty breaks, and other care based on each pet’s needs.
  • Follow documented pet-care instructions and communicate changes or concerns promptly.
  • Keep Day Camp yards, indoor play areas, kennels, equipment, and surrounding spaces clean and sanitary throughout the day.
  • Clean and disinfect pet-contact areas and promptly remove animal waste.
  • Complete required pet-care, activity, cleaning, safety, and operational documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with pet parents during Day Camp drop-off and pick-up interactions when assigned.
  • Work closely with teammates and leadership to provide safe and consistent care.
  • Support other Pet Care responsibilities and departments as needed based on training and business needs.
What We’re Looking For

Previous professional animal-care experience is not required
. Kennelwood will provide the training you need to safely perform the position.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Genuinely enjoys working hands‑on with dogs.
  • Is comfortable around dogs of different breeds, sizes, strength levels, energy levels, and temperaments.
  • Can stay focused and aware while supervising multiple dogs at once.
  • Is willing to learn canine body language and safe animal-handling techniques.
  • Can react calmly and appropriately when situations change quickly.
  • Understands that great pet care includes plenty of cleaning and sanitation.
  • Can follow verbal and written instructions carefully.
  • Communicates concerns and asks questions when something is unclear.
  • Works well as part of a team and responds positively to coaching and direction.
  • Is dependable, responsible, and committed to animal safety and well-being.

A high school diploma or equivalent and previous animal-care, kennel, daycare, veterinary, training, or dog-handling experience are preferred, but not required.

Requirements Schedule & Availability

Kennelwood Day Camp operates seven days a week
, and our pets rely on us regardless of weekends and holidays.

Schedules may include weekdays, early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak Day Camp periods. Positions may be full-time, part-time, or seasonal depending on the needs of the location.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
